A driver died on Interstate 94 in west-central Minnesota when their pickup was hit from behind by a semi-trailer.
The incident happened near Fergus Falls around 5:40 a.m. Friday, when the westbound Dodge pickup was rear-ended by the semi.
Both vehicles left the road and veered into the Hansel Lake Rest Area in Otter Tail County, with the pickup then destroyed by fire.
The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene.
The semi driver – a 33-year-old man from Rockville, Minnesota – was taken to the Lake Region Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The deceased driver has not yet been identified.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the State Patrol.
