Driver of vehicle struck in intersection dies in the hospital

The crash happened in St. Wendel Township, near St. Cloud.

One person died following a two-vehicle crash in Stearns County on Friday evening. 

According to a release issued Monday by the Stearns County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened around 6:54 p.m. when a 2005 Toyota Tundra driven by a 46-year-old St. Joseph man collided with a 2017 Ford Expedition at the intersection of County Road 3 and Norway Road in St. Wendel Township, near St. Joseph. 

The Tundra was westbound on Norway Road when it struck the southbound Expedition on the driver's side door. 

The driver of the Expedition, Stacy Meyer, 54, of Freeport, was transported to St. Cloud Hospital where she later died. 

The driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries in the crash. 

The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
