Driver who hit bicyclist in St. Paul dies in rollover crash

The hit-and-run ended with a deadly rollover crash.

The driver of a vehicle that hit a bicyclist before speeding away and crashing Sunday night in St. Paul has died. 

According to the St. Paul Police Department, the driver of a 2018 Ford Mustang was traveling on Maryland Avenue and struck a person riding a bike as he was exiting to go north on Interstate 35E. The biker "appeared to be OK," according to police. 

The driver then fled the scene, going west on Maryland Avenue before going through a red light near the exit ramp from I-35E south, where it was struck by another vehicle before going off the road and rolling at L'Orient Street. 

Three people in the Mustang and were taken to the hospital, where the adult male driver died, police announced Monday morning. The condition of the other two passengers is unknown. 

The crash remains under investigation.
