Driver with gunshot wounds dies after crashing into NE Minneapolis building

Police responding to a crash in northeast Minneapolis arrived to find a man suffering from gunshot wounds that later proved fatal.

The incident unfolded just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, when a red sedan was found crashed at the intersection of Central Avenue and NE 14th Street, having hit a building nearby.

The man behind the wheel was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance after being rendered CPR at the scene.

He died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Investigators then located evidence of a shooting a short distance away, at 14th Avenue Northeast and Tyler Street.

Several people who were in the area at the time of the shooting were interviewed at the scene.

As of right now, no suspects have been arrested, with police looking for help from the public to identify those involved.

The victim's identity and their cause of death will be released at a later stage by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
