Dump truck loses control and shreds part of a home in Oak Grove

Luckily, nobody was home when the truck crashed.

An out-of-control dump truck left the road in Oak Grove, Minnesota, and slammed into a house on Tuesday afternoon. 

Paul Sommer of the Anoka County Sheriff's Office tells BMTN that the truck was traveling east on Viking Blvd. around 1:30 p.m. when it left the roadway and struck the garage of house on Kiowa Street in Oak Grove. 

Nobody was home at the time and the driver was not hurt, but the garage was severely damaged along with some of the contents inside. 

The driver told police that the truck had a mechanical failure. 

The Minnesota State Patrol is inspecting the crash scene.
