An off-duty Wright County Sheriff's deputy who allegedly rear-ended another vehicle Monday evening, causing minor injury to the driver, now faces two criminal charges related to drunk driving.

KSTP reports 49-year-old Wesley John Holland was driving a pickup eastbound on County Road 37 near Fenning Avenue in Monticello when he crashed into the back of a stopped car with a man and baby inside. The man suffered a cut to his ear and the baby was uninjured.

The Minnesota State Patrol was called to the scene and reported smelling alcohol on Holland. Authorities also noted Holland had "watery, glassy, bloodshot eyes and an unsteady gate" in their report.

The deputy told the state patrolmen that he had been drinking at a golf tournament and a bar earlier that day. A preliminary breath test showed Holland's blood-alcohol content was 0.115 percent at the time of the crash.

Holland has worked for the Wright County Sheriff's Office since 1992, according to KARE 11.
