More mail will soon be processed in the Twin Cities under a plan to consolidate facilities in Rochester, Duluth, Waite Park, Mankato and Bemidji. Some of the positions will be eliminated, but the Pioneer Press reports more than 200 new jobs could be available at the St. Paul Processing and Distribution Center in Eagan.

Ecolab launches new bio-based cleaners

Minnesota-based Ecolab Inc. has introdcued a new environmentally friendly line of bio-based cleaners for commercial uses designed for hard surfaces like glass and bathroom surfaces. The company says the products are made from "plant-derived natural resources" and don't require protective equipment for use.

Ecolab claims new product will keep flies out of restaurants

According a press release: The STEALTH Fly Station is a dark, reflective device that uses multiple stimulating characteristics to attract and eliminate flies around the exterior of a facility before they can become a problem inside. The device can be placed near common fly areas, such as dumpster corrals, to discreetly keep flies from interrupting daily operations.

Ecolab to acquire chemical company Champion for $2.2 billion

Ecolab to close Grand Forks office next summer, cut 144 full-time jobs

St. Paul-based Ecolab plans to close its Grand Forks office next July, the Herald reports. The facility has 144 full-time employees who support accounting, customer service, human resources, information technology and other administrative functions related to Ecolab's Pest Elimination business. Layoffs could begin as soon as January. Some employees may be able to work from home or take other jobs at Ecolab locations in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois or Indiana.
