St. Paul-based Ecolab is hoping for good news about a company vice president who's missing after Tuesday's Amtrak derailment in Philadelphia.

Bob Gildersleeve, 45, was traveling from Baltimore to New York on a business trip. An Ecolab spokesman tells MPR News Gildersleeve has worked for the company for 22 years and keeps an office in St. Paul, though he lives in the Baltimore area.

The New York Daily News says Gildersleeve was not among the seven people confirmed dead in the accident, which also injured more than 200.

His father, Bob Gildersleeve Sr., tells the Wall Street Journal his son's phone was recovered on the railroad tracks and says the anxiety of not knowing what happened is frustrating.

The Ecolab executive is the father of two children, one of whom went with his grandfather to Philadelphia to look for Gildersleeve and plead for help.
