An autopsy is set to be conducted to determine the cause of death of an Eden Prairie man who suffered a medical emergency following an ATV crash.

Authorities were alerted to the medical emergency around 8:10 p.m. Sunday at a residence in Woodrow Township, according to the Cass County Sheriff's Office.

Paramedics arrived at the residence and began treating a 57-year-old Eden Prairie man. Despite lifesaving efforts, the man died at the scene. Authorities learned that he had been involved in an ATV crash earlier that evening.

It's unknown if the man was injured in the ATV crash, nor is it clear if the crash had anything to do with his death.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of family members. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office is conducting the autopsy.
