Edina police seeking tips in burning of 'several cars'

The arson happened near Lake Edina Park near France Ave.
Edina water tower.

Authorities in Edina are hoping an offer of reward money will lead to the people responsible for an arson that happened late last month.

A city news release says several cars were vandalized in the Parkland Court area on the night of July 23, when the suspect or suspects "attempted to light the vehicles on fire," causing significant damage to each.

The incident took place in a residential area of mostly apartment buildings.

Few other details about the case have been released, but the Edina Crime Prevention Fund is offering a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to "the arrest or charging" of those responsible.

If you know something about the crime, you're urged to contact the Edina Police Department at 952-826-1600. Tips may be made anonymously.
