Eh? Target ready to roll out 33 more Canadian stores

Just in time for the holidays in the Great White North, Target will open more Canadian stores.

The Dow Jones Newswires reports the Minneapolis-based retailer said Monday that it will open 31 stores new Canadian outlets on Nov. 13, and two more on Nov. 2.

Retailing Today said that most of the new locations will feature a Starbucks and an in-store pharmacy. With the new stores, Target will have opened 124 stores across Canada this year, adding 20,000 workers.

The move represents the retailer's first international expansion.
The expansion has been initially less profitable than Target had anticipated, dragging down fiscal second-quarter results. The company is not forecasting that the Canada project would be profitable by year's end.

Target disappointed some Canadian shoppers, who complained about prices and selection.
