The inmate who walked away from the minimum security wing of Stillwater Prison has been caught by authorities.

Patrick James Buswell, 40, was caught at 2:40 a.m. Wednesday in Chippewa County, Wisconsin, by officers from the Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC), US Marshals service and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation.

He was found at a "rural residence" near Holcombe, according to a press release from the Minnesota DOC, and is now expected to face new criminal charges for escape in Minnesota, and a possible narcotics charge in Wisconsin.

"Through interviews with associates and multiple investigative techniques, we were able to locate him in a residence in rural Holcombe," a DOC spokesperson told BringMeTheNews.

Buswell walked away from the prison while he was mowing a lawn as part of a prison works crew on June 12, prompting law enforcement agencies to launch a manhunt.

He was serving a 60-month sentence for a weapons offense, having entered prison on Jan. 5 and having been assigned to minimum-custody status since Feb. 25. He was due for supervised release on Jan. 2, 2018.

He is now in custody at Chippewa County Jail.

Authorities continue to investigate whether Buswell had any help, after confirming on Tuesday that they believe he was assisted in his escape by someone on the outside.
