An Anoka County judge will decide if a former police officer accused of sexually assaulting underage girls will be allowed to work in security at a Minneapolis mall and apartment building or if it violates court orders, according to the Pioneer Press.

Former Minneapolis cop Bradley Schnickel, 32, of Andover was terminated from the police force following allegations of sexual assaults were brought to light in February.

According to court documents, Schnickel is accused of online sex crimes involving at least 20 girls, ages 11 to 16, and coercing several of the victims into having sexual encounters with him.

Three months ago, Schnickel was hired by Sabri Properties as a security supervisor at Karmel Mall, Karmel Village and other properties.

Prosecutors argued Tuesday that the job violates the conditions of his release, which prohibit Schnickel from any contact with juvenile females other than supervised visits with his young daughters.

The Pioneer Press says Judge James Cunningham took the motion under advisement, but hasn't yet ruled on the matter.

“To me, I’m an ex-felon myself. I believe in giving people second chances and everybody deserves a second chance,” Basim Sabri, owner of Sabri Properties, tells WCCO.

Schnickel pleaded guilty Thursday to sending nude photos of himself to two teen girls in Hennepin County and will serve one-year in the Hennepin County workhouse, according to the Star Tribune. His official sentencing date is Aug. 27.

Felony charges in Anoka County are mounting against Schnickel, the latest filed in late May that included an allegation of sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old girl.
