Fake airline Instagram accounts promise thousands of free flights

American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Jetblue and United Airlines are not giving away free trips to Instagram followers, a free photo-sharing program and social network. CNET reports someone is setting up fake accounts promising free flights, but it's unclear why. More than 21,000 subscribers are following Delta's fake account.

American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Jetblue and United Airlines are not giving away free trips to Instagram followers, a free photo-sharing program and social network. CNET reports someone is setting up fake accounts promising free flights, but it's unclear why. More than 21,000 subscribers are following Delta's fake account.

Southwest Airlines also says the Instagram ticket giveaway is a scam and issued a news alert on its blog about the fraudulent promotions, azcentral.com reports.

Delta is the dominate airline at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
