A Hutchinson, Minnesota, couple has been charged in connection with the disappearance of a missing Wright County man who hasn't been heard from since late August.

Robert Nuttall, 28, was charged Friday with kidnapping 25-year-old Christopher Rossing, according to the Wright County Sheriff's Office. Nuttall's live-in girlfriend, Gwen Butcher, 33, is accused of aiding an offender after the fact, the Star Tribune reports. Both (pictured below) remained in jail Sunday.

Prosecutor Brian Lutes told the newspaper Sunday that "the circumstances of this case permitted us to charge the kidnapping" even though they haven't found Rossing.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information about the case to call investigators at 763-682-7637. A $5,000 reward is also being offered for information leading to Rossing, who hasn't been seen since Aug. 22 when he was spotted at Trouble's Bar in Howard Lake, the sheriff's office says.

According to charges against the couple, Rossing and Nuttall were flirting with the same woman at the American Legion, which caused some tension between the two, the Star Tribune reports. Butcher then got to the bar and was irritated Nuttall was paying attention to another woman and the couple left, the newspaper says.

Rossing ended up going to Trouble's Bar, where Nuttall and Butcher showed up later. After leaving, Nuttall and Rossing had a "violent altercation," KARE 11 says, before Nuttall and Butcher drove home with Rossing in the SUV. Butcher told police Nuttall said he drove Rossing to Howard Lake, the news station notes.

A search of the SUV showed it appeared "efforts had been made to clean the interior of the vehicle," the Star Tribune says.

His car was found Aug. 27 at a gas station in the town, with the windows rolled down and the keys still inside, according to a Facebook page set up by his family. Rossing was reported missing on Aug. 26.

Friends, family and authorities have conducted several ground and water searches, then and the Facebook page vows to keep searching until Rossing is found.

Despite arrests in the case, Rossing's family says they're frustrated with the search to find him, FOX 9 reports.

The family has spoken to a medium hoping to use those clues to aid in the search. According to a post on the Facebook page, Rossing told the medium he was "by the cornfields" and there is a windmill, rocks and sand, among other clues. The medium also said "look for a black wallet."

The family plans to post fliers in the area Monday, the Facebook page says.

According to a fundraising page set up, a family member wrote "unfortunately the outcome is looking to be the worst case scenario for our family and for our sweet, fun-loving Christopher. Foul play has been confirmed ... Our family is asking for help to be financially prepared for what will be coming next for our family in the very near future."

As of Monday morning, the website had raised $1,270 of its $10,000 goal.
