Family members of a man killed in a struggle with Minneapolis police say they're not getting answers about what happened on Friday.

Walter Franklin, whose 22-year-old son was killed, tells KARE 11 police kept him away from the crime scene and have not allowed him to identify his son's body.

Police Chief Janee Harteau tells Fox 9 the department is doing its best to share information as quickly as possible, but needs time to review and investigate what happened.

Police say Terrance Franklin fled a traffic stop on the city's south side and broke into a home near 27th and Bryant. When officers followed him into the home, a struggle ensued. Police say Franklin tried to grab an officer's gun.

Shots were fired, but how many and who fired them are still under investigation.

Autopsy results released Sunday indicate Franklin was shot multiple times. Two officers and a police dog were injured. Officers Michael Meath and Ricardo Muro were hospitalized in satisfactory condition. Meath was released from the hospital Sunday, the Star Tribune reports.

Soon after the shooting a motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a police vehicle headed to the scene. Friends and family members of 23-year-old Ivan Romero gathered at 26th and Blaisdell, the site of the crash. There, too, there were calls for answers. Romero's uncle told the Pioneer Press through a translator "We are here because we want justice."

Police say the squad car involved in the crash was using its flashing lights and siren and was traveling well below the speed limit.

Romero's girlfriend, Joselyn Torrejon, was a passenger on the motorcycle. She was reportedly in satisfactory condition at Hennepin County Medical Center.
