The man killed when his UTV was struck by a vehicle that then left the scene has been identified by authorities.
Michael Tibbetts, 27, of Ogema, Minnesota, was killed when the Polaris Ranger side-by-side UTV he was on was struck by a 1999 Mercury Marquis.
The incident happened just before 7 p.m. Monday in Maple Grove Township, around 20 miles north of Detroit Lakes.
Tibbetts was flown to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo after the crash, where he died from his injuries on Tuesday, according to the Becker County Sheriff's Office.
Police continue the hunt for the driver of the car, who left the scene after the crash.
Tibbetts' family have been paying tribute to him, but also calling for information about the person involved in his death.
His younger sister, Brittany Tibbetts, says the 27-year-old was being kept alive by life support as a result of his injuries, before the decision was taken to end life support on Tuesday.
She referred to him as "my little big brother" and "my hero" on Facebook, adding: "I love seeing how many people loved my brother. I'm so lost and hurt by this situation, how could anyone be so heartless and why did it have to me my brother??"
