Farmington woman killed while crossing the highway

It happened around 7:20 p.m. Saturday on the north side of Farmington.

A 38-year-old Farmington woman was killed when she was struck by a vehicle on Saturday night.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, April Janeen Sterling was crossing Hwy. 3 at 209th Street West in Farmington when she was hit by a northbound 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe. Sterling was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fatal crash happened around 7:20 p.m. and road conditions were described as "snow/ice" at the time, according to the State Patrol.

The driver of the vehicle that struck her was not impaired, the crash report says.
