Two people have died in a head-on crash in Andover Friday morning.
The Anoka County Sheriff's Office says that one of the two vehicles involved was on fire when responders arrived at the scene on 165th Ave. (CR 7) at Makah St. NW. at 7:41 a.m.
Bystanders removed the driver from the burning vehicle, but both drivers involved in the crash died at the scene despite lifesaving attempts.
No other passengers were in the vehicles.
"Initial information shows that one vehicle was traveling eastbound on 165th Ave. NW and the other vehicle was traveling westbound when they collided head on," the sheriff's office said.
Details are limited but the Anoka County Sheriff's Office has shut down a roadway after a fatal crash in Andover.
The sheriff's office says the crash happened Friday morning on 7th Ave. NW (County Road 7) at 165 Ave. NW.
Authorities are at the scene and have closed 7th Ave. NW in both directions, and it'll remain closed for "some time while the fatal crash is being investigated."
"Please make alternative plans if you would be traveling that route this morning," the notice from the sheriff's office adds.
It's unclear how many vehicles were involved, nor is it clear how many people were involved in the crash.
