The State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a semi in central Minnesota.
According to a crash report, the deadly collision happened around 9:18 p.m. Sunday on eastbound Interstate 94 at County Road 11 near Freeport, Stearns County.
The patrol says a 54-year-old Brooklyn Park man was driving a Yamaha motorcycle and "came into contact with the rear" of the semi. The contact resulted in a crash, with the motorcycle coming to a rest on the median shoulder of the freeway.
The identity of the Brooklyn Park man is expected to be released Monday afternoon.
No one else was injured in the crash.
The state's department of traffic safety has recorded 226 deaths on Minnesota roads this year, which is well ahead of last year's pace when 168 people had died at the same point.
