Homicide detectives are looking for a "smaller SUV-style truck that is dark in color" after the 56th killing of 2020 in Minneapolis.

The latest bloodshed happened in a shooting Monday afternoon on the 2900 block of N Oliver Avenue, where a vehicle was seen speeding away from where a victim was found lying in the grass near the curb after being shot multiple times.

The victim, a man believed to be in his 30s, was in grave condition and later died after being transported to North Memorial Health Hospital. His identity has not been released.

Police believe the suspected gunman was driving the SUV-style truck, though a photo of the vehicle has not been released to the public. No arrests have been made.

The killing is the 56th homicide of 2020 in Minneapolis, which the Star Tribune reports is eight more than all of 2019 and just one shy of the 20-year high of 57 in 2006.

It was the third killing in less than 24 hours in north Minneapolis.
