Father struck in chest by stray bullet outside barbershop in Brooklyn Park
A man was shot in the chest outside a business in Brooklyn Park, but police don't believe he was the intended target.
According to Brooklyn Park Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 6300 block of Zane Avenue North at 4:14 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a shooting, and arrived at the location to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The man was taken by ambulance to a hospital. His condition has not been released.
The victim was struck by the bullet outside a barbershop, with WCCO-TV reporting that several vehicles and businesses were "peppered" with bullets from what was believed to be a drive-by shooting.
The TV station says the man who was shot was sitting in his vehicle outside the barbershop, where he was waiting as his son was getting a haircut.
Police continue to investigate the shooting.
