Feathers ruffle in hunters' spat over duck blind, gunfire erupts
Two duck hunters got into a nasty quarrel over who had dibs on a prime duck blind along the Mississippi River in the Spring Lake Park Reserve, and one of the men opened fire on the other's boat, the Star Tribune reports.
The two hunters differ on what exactly happened at the scenic spot roughly 20 miles south of St. Paul, the newspaper reports. The hunter who was arrested told investigators that it was actually a shot at a bird that hit the boat.
It's highly unusual that hunters would resort to gunfire in a dispute, Chris Niskanen, spokesman for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, told the newspaper.
