Fergus Falls man dies when van rolls on top of him
A Fergus Falls man working on his van in the driveway of his home died Thursday when the vehicle rolled unexpectedly, pinning him.
The Fergus Falls Journal reports 54-year-old Glen Allen Detienne was underneath the van when he disconnected the drive shaft, causing the vehicle to roll off its ramps.
Detienne's girlfriend found him and called police around 12:30 p.m. He was dead when authorities arrived.
It appears Detienne failed to take safety precautions. Police said the van's parking brake wasn't on and the front wheels weren't blocked, KBRF reported.
The medical examiner ruled Detienne's death accidental.
