Fever sink Lynx in Game 4, win WNBA title
INDIANAPOLIS -- Tamika Catchings scored 25 points to lead the Indiana Fever to a 87-78 win over the Minnesota LynxSunday to capturethe 2012 WNBA Championship. Erin Philips added 18 points for Indiana, which spoiled Minnesota's quest for a repeat title.
Lindsay Whalen led the Lynx with 22 points and eight assists. Maya Moore added 16 points in the losing cause.
Minnesota trailed by five points at the half, and couldn't overcome the Fever the rest of the way. In the best-of-five series, the Lynx won just one game -- Game 2 at Target Center. Had the Lynx been victorious Sunday night, a deciding Game 5 would have been played in Minneapolis this Wednesday.
