Fire breaks out at Minneapolis homeless encampment
Fire crews responded to the homeless "tent city" in Minneapolis after a fire broke out Monday afternoon.
The Minneapolis Fire Department says "multiple" tents caught fire at the Hiawatha/Franklin Avenue encampment.
The bulk of the fire has been knocked down as of 3:20 p.m., with no injuries reported.
More than 200 homeless people have been living at the encampment since the summer.
The city of Minneapolis is in the process of readying a temporary site off of Cedar Avenue, where the inhabitants of the tent city can stay during the winter.
