A fire broke out at Young Joni in Minneapolis Sunday evening.

The pizza and cocktail joint has said it will be closed until further notice as it assesses the damage from the fire, which forced the evacuation of diners and staff.

"It will take us some time to fully assess the damage and we’ll share an update once we know more," it said on its website. "Thank you for your well-wishes and we look forward to serving you again soon."

The Minneapolis Fire Department said it was at the scene on 13th Avenue Northeast at around 6:30 p.m.

The fire broke out in the attic, and firefighters had to make holes in the roof to allow it to ventilate.

By 7 p.m. crews had it under control, and found that fortunately it hadn't spread along the roof line. A further search of the building found no further instances of fire and no injuries.

The cause is under investigation by the fire department.
