A fireworks accident left a man in central Minnesota with extensive injuries to his hand.
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened on the 25000 block of Hilltop Road in Munson Township – west of St. Cloud – around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 7.
First responders arrived at the scene to find a 31-year-old Richmond man who had sustained "extensive injuries" to his hand. The sheriff's office was told that a firework exploded in the man's hand.
The 31-year-old was taken by air ambulance to North Memorial Medical Center in the Twin Cities for treatment. His current condition is unknown.
In an unrelated incident, Apple Valley Police Department announced Friday that a man was killed on the Fourth of July when a fireworks mortar struck him in the head.
