A man was rescued from the Mississippi River by a fisherman Sunday evening, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.
At around 7:30 p.m., Hennepin County officers responded to a report of a man in the river near the Stone Arch Bridge. Department spokesperson Edgar Linares says deputies were to the incident when a fisherman eventually pulled the man out of the river.
The man was then transported to a local hospital.
Linares said the man was responsive at the time of transportation.
His current condition is unknown, and it's not clear how he ended up in the river.
