Five people were rescued from an island in a northeastern Minnesota lake after their boat capsized Sunday.
The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on White Iron Lake, southeast of Ely in Minnesota's Iron Range.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office and Rescue Squad was called to the lake along with Morse Fire after a 14-foot boat with five people in it capsized.
"All 5 people were wearing life jackets and were able to swim to a nearby island where they were rescued and brought to shore," the sheriff's office said.
Fortunately, nobody was injured in the incident, with police saying that "gusty winds" contributed to the emergency.
"The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office reminds the public to always wear life jackets and be prudent in deciding whether to venture out into the water in arduous conditions," the sheriff's office added.
