Fla. teen finds fairy godmother in Minnesota
Marie Porter of north Minneapolis, a member of the high-IQ society Mensa, agreed through her social media connections to make a homecoming dance dress for the 14-year-old daughter of another Mensa member in Florida. But it was no easy task – the girl wanted a gown inspired by her favorite online video game. But KARE 11 reports Porter relished the challenge that tested her math and sewing prowess. And there was another reason she took on the job: both she and the teen, Abby Colston, have Asperger's syndrome (an autism spectrum disorder).
