Fleeing driver suffers life-threatening injuries in Apple Valley crash
A driver who fled authorities during the overnight hours Monday morning crashed in Apple Valley and suffered life-threatening injuries, the Minnesota State Patrol said.
According to a crash report, a 36-year-old Lakeville man was eastbound on 140th St. W and driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control at a curve near Garden View Drive.
The Lexus he was driving went across a walking path and then struck a utility pole and a tree, according to the State Patrol, which says a "pursuit of this vehicle was terminated prior to the vehicle crashing" and that no officers witnessed the crash.
It all happened around 2 a.m., though what led to the pursuit in the first place is unknown. Bring Me The News has reached out to the State Patrol for more information.
The driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to HCMC.
A 32-year-old Bloomington woman was a passenger in the vehicle and was taken to nearby Ridges Hospital in Burnsville with injuries that were not life-threatening.
