If you're looking to breeze through the ticket lines at the State Fair, now's your chance.

For the first time ever, the Minnesota State Fair is allowing people to buy their tickets at home online. You can either print them off beforehand, or present them at the gate by pulling up an electronic version on a phone or tablet.

You can buy the tickets via etix here.

"There started to be demand for it, and it also helps us kind of get people through the gates quicker," fair deputy general manager Renee Alexander told MPR.

Adult admission tickets currently cost $13, and are currently the only ones you can buy via the online service. The website says anyone wanting $11 tickets for children aged 5-12 and seniors over 65 should still buy them at the gate.

The online ticketing site went live Friday, as the opening day on Thursday is a discount day.

Anyone who qualifies for discounts on other days (such as military members/families on Tuesday and public library cardholders on Wednesday) should still buy their tickets on the gate, MPR notes.
