Police have released more details about the two fatal shootings reported at the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce building on Friday.

Faribault Police said that the deceased are 59-year-old Barbara Larson and her ex-husband Richard Larson, 61, who is believed to have killed his former wife before turning the gun on himself.

Barbara Larson was employed at the Chamber of Commerce on Wilson Ave NW., where her body was found along with her ex-husband's behind a desk on Friday afternoon.

Richard Larson was a former Faribault police officer who retired in 2008.

The Larsons divorced in 2014 and just last week, a harassment restraining order was served on Richard Larson.

"Being such a small community, Faribault PD has worked with both in the past," Faribault police chief Andy Bohlen said. "Our collective hearts are broken after responding to such a tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with all families involved."

KARE 11 spoke with members of the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce, who described her as a "friendly, gregarious co-worker who everyone loved to be around.

"She will be missed forever by all who knew her."

The Faribault Daily News reports that in the restraining order, Barbara Larson alleged that her husband had assaulted her in Dec. 2013 by grabbing her by the neck and pushing her up against the wall.

She also accused him of a pattern of stalking and harassment and expressed fears for her own safety, even stipulating that the restraining order prohibit him from attending public events at the Chamber of Commerce.
