U.S. Sen. Al Franken continues to bring in a steady flow of cash in his campaign for re-election in 2014.

The Associated Press reports the first-term senator raised just over $2 million from July to September, close to matching what donors contributed in each of the two quarters before then.

In an announcement Tuesday, Franken's campaign said $1.8 million came from more than 37,000 donors in the last three months with nearly all of them donating less than $100. Politics in Minnesota reports about $230,000 was transferred from Franken's political action committee.

The senator currently has $3.9 million in the bank.

GOP challenger Mike McFadden announced his fundraising tallies last week. The business executive raised $700,000 in the last quarter and has about $1.2 million on hand.

The remaining five candidates state Rep. Jim Abeler, St. Louis County Board Chairman Chris Dahlberg, bison farmer Monti Moreno, state Sen. Julianne Ortman and activist Philip Parrish have not announced or submitted fundraising records yet, according to Politics in Minnesota.

In the Sixth District race to replace U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, Tom Emmer continues to be the strongest fundraiser of the four Republican candidates, the Star Tribune reports.
