Frattallone's Ace Hardware to open 18th store

The Arden Hills-based hardware chain plans to open its newest location in St. Louis Park next month. CEO Larry Frattallone told the Business Journal the company is taking over the spot left vacant when Jerry's Hardware & Rental closed December 5. This past winter, Frattallone's also opened a 21,000-square-foot store in Burnsville and doubled the size of its Woodbury location.

Target confirms stores opening in Canada next year

The Minneapolis-based discount giant is firming up plans to enter its first market outside the United States. Target has released a list of 125 store locations in Canada that will open starting next spring. Its first 24 stores are all in Ontario. Later this year, Target will announce additional locations that will open in 2014.
