Staying home might be a wise idea Saturday morning as roadways in southern Minnesota are littered with crashes and spinouts as a powerful winter storm has delivered a shot of rain and mixed precipitation, leading to very icy conditions.

In the Twin Cities metro area, there were over 100 crashes/spinouts before 7 a.m. The map below is filled with purple markers, each one indicating a reported crash. The map is from 6:40 a.m.
