From 'Arrr' to 'Awww': Two Harbors boy gets wish with pirate day, Disney trip

It was a no-pencil-needed kind of school day for Cooper Amesbury.

Though even if he had wanted to pick one up, it would have been hard with a hook for a hand, and an eye patch covering one eye.

The fifth-grader from Two Harbors was treated to a day of fun Thursday, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and a lot of help from his hometown community – a pirate-themed day, a treasure hunt, and ultimately a trip to Disney World, FOX 21 reports.

The 11-year-old Amesbury was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy when he was an even younger boy, Northland's NewsCenter reports.

That never got in the way of his love for pirates though, and for his special day, the community gave him what he wanted.

It began with the pirate theme – he and his classmates dressed up in pirate grab and walked outside to a treasure map, the Duluth News Tribune reports. A bus drove he and his family around to each clue.

The fifth and final clue led him to the final treasure: A trip to Disney World in Florida, which includes meeting his favorite character, Olaf (the snowman from "Frozen"), WDIO reports.
