A boy from Fridley has a date at the White House this Easter, as his efforts to raise awareness of childhood cancer have not gone unnoticed by President Obama.

A special package arrived for Graham Trocke-Fowler this week – an invitation to attend the White House Annual Easter Egg Roll, and a personal letter from the President himself.

In the past year, the 11-year-old has made and sold more than 34,000 colorful rubber bracelets as part of his Graham's Gift fund-raising drive, which he launched in response to his own battle with spitzoid melanoma, FOX 9 reports.

"I was flipping out," he told the news station, describing the moment the invite arrived, with the President's letter telling the schoolboy: "Please know, your family will remain in my thoughts. I expect big things from you."

According to the Graham's Gift Facebook page, older brother RJ sent a letter describing Graham's battle with the rare disease, as well as some of the rubber bracelets that have helped Graham raise tens of thousands of dollars for childhood cancer research.

Mother Cheryl and his three siblings will be joining Graham on his trip for the Easter Egg Roll, which is the largest event held on White House grounds and promotes healthy and active living for children.

Cheryl Trocke-Fowler couldn't contain her excitement on Twitter, saying: "So excited to bring Melanoma Awareness to the White House!!!!"

FOX 9 notes that Graham, an avid hockey fan, is currently free of cancer after undergoing 14 surgeries.
