Fundraiser for children left without parents after father dies on Minnesota lake

Rick Longnecker died while fishing on Lake Oliver this week.

Tragedy has struck for a second time in the lives of a brother and sister in west-central Minnesota.

BreeAnn and Brennen Longnecker of Appleton, Minnesota, lost their mother when they were just 4 and 8 years old, respectively, and on Sunday their father went missing while fishing and was found dead two days later.

A GoFundMe for the siblings has been set up by extended family members, who say they are "trying to maneuver" their next steps and that starting a fundraiser is "the least we could do."
