Tragedy has struck for a second time in the lives of a brother and sister in west-central Minnesota.

BreeAnn and Brennen Longnecker of Appleton, Minnesota, lost their mother when they were just 4 and 8 years old, respectively, and on Sunday their father went missing while fishing and was found dead two days later.

A GoFundMe for the siblings has been set up by extended family members, who say they are "trying to maneuver" their next steps and that starting a fundraiser is "the least we could do."

The Swift County Sheriff's Office recovered 60-year-old Ricky Longnecker's body from the south end of Lake Oliver just after noon Tuesday.

It's unclear what happened between the time Longnecker went fishing on Sunday and when his empty boat, which was still in gear, was found ashore late that night.
