Fundraiser set up for family of man killed in Lino Lakes shooting

He was discovered at his home by his father; no one's been arrested yet.

While an investigation into a Lino Lakes homicide gets underway, the family of the man killed are getting some help from the community.

A GoFundMe has been set up on their behalf, with a fundraising goal of $10,000; as of this writing, a little over a thousand has been raised.

This comes a day after the father of the victim came home to find two individuals leaving out the front door and fleeing the scene; inside, he discovered his adult son with what would prove to be fatal gunshot wounds.

Despite the lifesaving efforts of paramedics, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not been identified publicly yet.

Police have released few details about the crime, though a Friday afternoon social media announcement asks the public to be on the lookout for a "dark grey GMC Terrain with no front plate and light front end damage that may have been involved in this incident."

They're also asking nearby neighbors — specifically those north or south of Birch Street between Black Duck Dr. and Centerville Rd. — to check their home surveillance systems for footage that might have captured a "dark colored mid-size SUV between 2:35PM and 2:45PM" on Thursday.

Anyone with information about the crime is urged to contact Sgt. Schirmers at cschirmers@linolakes.us, or share a tip anonymously via the Lino Lakes Tip411 app.
