Gas prices hit $4 a gallon in Minnesota

Prices for a gallon of gasoline in the Bemidji area are among some of the highest in the country according to AAA. Spokeswoman Gail Weinholzer tells Minnesota Public Radio that Hurricane Isaac as well as a pipeline problem in Wisconsin and refinery problems in Chicago have bumped prices up at the pump. Minnesota's average is $3.95, which is eight cents higher than the national average.

Prices for gasoline in the Bemidji area are among some of the highest in the country, according to AAA. Spokeswoman Gail Weinholzer tells Minnesota Public Radio that Hurricane Isaac as well as a pipeline problem in Wisconsin and refinery problems in Chicago have bumped up prices at the pump. Minnesota's average is $3.95, which is eight cents higher than the national average.

There were a few pumps at the $4 mark in the Twin Cities, but gas prices should dip again next week, the Pioneer Press reports.

Many motorists in Duluth are also being greeted with a $4 price tag for a gallon of gas, but a senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy.com tells the News Tribune he expects prices to be back to the mid-$3 range by late November.

Some commuters in the Mankato area tell KEYC they're concerned and frustrated.
