George S. McGovern estate sale under way in Sioux Falls
Personal items that belonged to 1972 Democratic presidential nominee and South Dakota U.S. Sen. George S. McGovern are being auctioned off at the president's former home in Sioux Falls, S.D., The Associated Press reports.
McGovern, who ran against President Richard M. Nixon in 1972, died in October at age 90.
The estate sale runs Saturday and Sunday, with items that range anywhere in price from $1 to thousands of dollars, The AP says.
The items, which belonged to McGovern and his wife, Elanor, who died in 2007, includes campaign material, books, artwork and other personal items.
