Girl, 14, critical after being trapped under ATV in Meeker County

Her 9-year-old cousin was also injured.

A teenage girl is in a critical condition in a Minnesota hospital after she was trapped beneath an ATV.

Meeker County Sheriff's Office said the incident happened at 9:20 p.m. Friday on the 54000 block of County State Aid Highway 23 in Acton Township.

The 14-year-old girl, Sabrina Miller, driving the ATV with her 9-year-old male cousin, from Cosmos, Minnesota, a passenger.

Miller is thought to have turned too sharply, causing the ATV to flip over, pinning them both underneath.

The boy called police, telling them his cousin, from Glendale, Arizona, was not breathing.

Deputies arrived and flipped the ATV off the pair, with Miller airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center with critical injuries.

The boy was taken to HCMC in a private vehicle.
