A young skateboarder is in critical condition after a driver struck her in north Minneapolis.
The incident happened Monday evening at Dowling Avenue and Bryant Avenue North, with the girl taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with serious injuries.
The driver stayed on scene to call 911 and provide First Aid along with other witnesses, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.
Police initially issued an appeal to identify the girl so they could track down a parent or guardian. On Tuesday, MPD announced she had been identified and her parents informed.
The case is still under investigation. Driver impairment or speeding are not currently considered factors in this case, MPD says.
