An 86-year-old school bus driver told police he didn't see a girl walking her bike in a crosswalk when the bus struck her Monday afternoon in Rochester.
According to Rochester police, the 14-year-old girl suffered lower-body injuries and possibly head injuries when she was struck by the school bus at the intersection of 11th Avenue Northwest and 14th Street Northwest at approximately 3:03 p.m. Monday.
Police say the girl was walking her bike west on 14th Street Northwest crossing 11th Avenue Northwest when the First Student bus driver turned left onto 11th Avenue Northwest and struck the teen.
The girl was transported by Mayo Clinic Ambulance to the hospital.
No citations were issued at the scene and police continue to investigate.
