These days, hungry travelers can indulge in organic fare, wine flights and high-end hamburgers while they kill time at the main terminal at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

But if you ask a lot of travelers what they're craving, they say a Big Mac.

The Pioneer Press reports that, as of Thursday, they can have it. McDonald's is back at the airport for the first time since December of 2011, when the fast-food giant's contract expired. The paper said that there have been a supersized number of requests for an airport Mac and Don's.

Earlier, WCCO reported that a number of travelers have contacted the Metropolitan Airports Commission.

“It’s one of the most requested restaurants that we’ve had since McDonald’s closed their doors on Concourse G a couple of years ago,” said airport spokesman Pat Hogan told the station.

The new 1,800-square-foot outlet opened on Concourse D. It will be open 24 hours a day and employ about 60 people. The Star Tribune reports the restaurantincludes a seating area with electrical outlets for travelers’ various mobile technology.
