A three-vehicle crash that temporarily closed eastbound Interstate 494 in Bloomington resulted in the death of one driver, the Minnesota State Patrol said Monday night.

The crash happened on I-494 at France Ave. at approximately 1:15 p.m. Monday.

The State Patrol reports that the driver of a Dodge Caravan was in the exit-only lane to France Ave. when he drifted left and sideswiped a Subaru Forester and then made contact with a semi trailer.

The semi driver, a 46-year-old Minneapolis man, was not injured. A Washington man was driving the Suburu and also escaped the crash without injury, the State Patrol said.
