The state GOP has filed suit against Wisconsin's Accountability Board over their handling of the recall effort. The lawsuit asks a judge to eliminate duplicate names, illegible signatures and clearly fake petitioners. Previously the board had said names, including Mickey Mouse or Adolf Hitler, would be accepted as long as they were accompanied by real addresses and proper dates.

Wisconsin's gubernatorial recall election is two weeks away and the campaigns are in high gear. Former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty joined Republican incumbent Scott Walker in La Crosse Monday. The pair visited a company that makes agricultural equipment to highlight jobs. Democrat Tom Barrett will campaign in Hudson Wednesday.

Talking Points Memo reports the recall could be the second most expensive campaign in the country, behind only the presidential race. If the cost gets anywhere close to that figure it would absolutely trounce the gubernatorial election itself, which came in at $37.4 million (and that set a record).
