Gov. Tim Walz will give an update on his administration's response to the COVID-19 outbreak at a rare press conference on Saturday.
Walz hasn't spoken to the public over a weekend since the early days of the outbreak in Minnesota. He will speak at 2 p.m., with the news conference streamed on his YouTube page here.
It comes after one of the toughest weeks so far for the governor during the outbreak.
He has faced criticism from the restaurant industry over his decision only to allow patio dining to restart on June 1.
Then shortly after he announced this on Wednesday, Catholic and Lutheran-Missouri Synod leaders said they would reopen for services starting May 26 and 31 respectively, in contravention of the governor's orders.
He has also seen two record high days for deaths from COVID-19 with 32 and 33 on Thursday and Friday, though Saturday's figures have dropped to 10.
